See, this alone I found: God made human beings straightforward, but they search for many complications. (Ecclesiastes 7:29 CEB)
Why do we make life so complicated?
Today, I’m going to try to keep it simple. Not easy, simple. Living simply to love and serve like Jesus. Simple, but very difficult. That’s the challenge for today.
What are your distractions? What are you obstacles?
So then let’s also run the race that is laid out in front of us, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us. Let’s throw off any extra baggage, get rid of the sin that trips us up, and fix our eyes on Jesus, faith’s pioneer and perfecter. He endured the cross, ignoring the shame, for the sake of the joy that was laid out in front of him, and sat down at the right side of God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:1-2 CEB)
Simple but difficult. Inviting and challenging.
Prayer: Lord help me keep my focus on you. Help me to run the race that you’ve laid out today. Give me the support and strength I need for this simple but difficult course. Amen.
