I named this blog Grace and Grind because I know I need God’s Grace to face the Grind, the challenges of each day. (I also like coffee so Grind is a play on words, as I usually write this blog in the morning while sipping some morning java.)
The verse that hit me hard today is from Romans 15. It’s about attitude. Mine’s not always the best, and I suspect I’m not alone. Maybe I needed this adult version of a time-out today. (Maybe you do too?) This verse has me fired up and encouraged to face the day. It’s also a reminder to live and love like Jesus – Simple but difficult, inviting and challenging. Here it is, an attitude check from inside out, with an atta boy a few verses later. :
May the God of endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each other, similar to Christ Jesus’ attitude.
My brothers and sisters, I myself am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and are able to teach each other. (Romans 15:5, 14 CEB)
Grace and grind folks, God’s grace, your grind.
Prayer: Lord, fill me with your grace. Fix my attitude. Encourage me. Inspire me. Invite me. Challenge me. Lead me. Amen.
