Thanks Living

Words are one thing, living them is another.  In chapter 28, the author of Hebrews writes that following Jesus, the life of a disciple is like running a long race, cheered on by many faithful folks that God has put into our lives.  It calls for perseverance and gratitude.  God has done so much for us.  Chapter 28 concludes with these verses:

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s continue to express our gratitude. With this gratitude, let’s serve in a way that is pleasing to God with respect and awe, 29 because our God really is a consuming fire. (Common English Bible)

Someone reading this needs to be cheered on.  Here’s to you.  God still loves you.  You can do this.  You got this.

All of us reading this have something to be thankful for all the time.  God is good, and God loves us.  That relationship and that kingdom cannot be shaken.  Thanks be to God.  May our lives reflect those words.  May our live be more than words of thanks, but actions of gratitude.

Lord:  Thanks.  Fire us up to run this race that you have set before us.  Thank you for those who cheer us on. Thank you for your love.  Thank you for your Son.  Thank you for the comfort of the Holy Spirit when the race is long.  May this life be lived in gratitude and thanks to you.  Amen.

NOTE:  I will be spending tomorrow with my family, so there may not be a Grace and Grind post tomorrow.
